GoFundMe Update, Radio Show, 1st Race Eve

We are beyond thrilled about the three things mentioned in this blog title.

1. We launched a GoFundMe campaign to support our team and the response has been overwhelmingly encouraging. We blew past the 50% mark of our goal in just 5 days with no signs of stopping. Thank you all for sharing and supporting this team! Let’s keep it going!

2. We were invited to tell the Richmond Composite high school mountain bike team story this past Tuesday on the radio on the show Oakland Bikes. Student rider Sergio, Coach Tara and Coach Doug got together and shared their experience with the team, challenges, inspiration and fun stories from riding trails with teens. You can now listen to the show at the following link (interview starts around 4:30).

3. In a year full of firsts, it seems everything we do counts or at least feels like a milestone. Our first race as a team is definitely a big one. Tomorrow we head down to Fort Ord in Monterey to join 1,000 of our peers in NorCal high school mountain biking to test our spirits (and legs), deepen our team bonds and represent for the first time in history Richmond, CA in the mountain biking scene. We’re as ready as we’ll ever be. 3, 2, 1, GO!
